With the constant stress of our “new normal” right now, you might be wondering: Is it ever good to be feeling fear, anger, or emotional withdrawal?
Actually, yes, teaches Polyvagal expert Deb Dana, because we need those inner states… but only if we can find our way back to safety and calm afterwards.
Survival states like fight, flight, and shutdown do in fact help us in crisis—but to avoid the long-term harms of these dysregulated states, we need to take the time to return ourselves to a regulated state.
Could you use some guided support in returning to emotional regulation and stability?
If so, we’re thrilled to invite you to a special gathering with this beloved teacher, clinician, and author.
attend this free, live event on may 14 to learn…
How a dysregulated nervous system gets stuck in worry, frustration, distraction, or shutdown, and how to shift back to restorative calm
A guided practice to map the unique language and needs of your own nervous system
An exercise to identify what drains you and what nourishes you—and how to steer yourself back to regulation
And how to move between states adaptably and flexibly amid all of your challenges
meet your presenters
