Dear friends,
The spiritual path is made of forgetting and remembering. And remembering compassion has been a total game changer in my life.
Self-compassion helped awaken me from what I call the trance of unworthiness, with its grip of fear and shame. Compassion has naturally extended to the other beings in my life, to holding our shared vulnerability and honoring our basic goodness.
I’ve witnessed in myself and countless others how living compassion—in action, in our relationships, and in our society—brings profound happiness, peace, and belonging.
And it seems clear that to heal our world, we need to consciously cultivate our innate capacity for compassion. Only then will our collective caring lead us to act on behalf of those most vulnerable, and our larger body, this living Earth.
This is the inspiration behind the Radical Compassion Challenge and my book, Radical Compassion.
Our vision is to start the year with an offering that can engage large numbers of people around the globe in awakening their hearts and engaging in compassion-based social activism.
The clock is ticking on the health of our planet, and the medicine for the sufferings we face is found in evolving consciousness: learning to move beyond bias and dividedness, realizing our mutual belonging, and living from love.
We hope you’ll join us in cultivating and extending compassion at such a critical time.
With loving blessings,
Tara Brach
