From the New York Times Bestselling Author of The Joy of Living: Unlocking the Secret and Science of Happiness

Clarity and Calm … in 15 Minutes a Day? This Modern-Day Tibetan Master Shows Us How.

From the non-stop stress to the hustle culture to the endless doomscrolling … is your reality feeling like a video game stuck in “nearly-impossible mode?”

And despite an infinite feed of movies, videos, memes, and other diversions—are you finding moments of real joy and contentment incredibly rare these days?

Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche hears this from his students every day, and he gets it.

A Tibetan Master for a New and Different World

As a young monk in 2002, Mingyur Rinpoche began collaborating with neuroscientists at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, who studied his astonishing ability to achieve states of profound awareness, joy, and calm.

(Though anyone who’s met Mingyur Rinpoche will tell you that you don’t need to see all the brain scans to feel his off-the-chart happiness and passion for helping others. But more on that later.)

Since that time, Mingyur Rinpoche has devoted his life to showing us how this steadiness and deep sense of contentment is already within us. It’s part of our natural state—not something we have to earn or become—even while dealing with the real world, and in a matter of days, not years.

So how do we connect with it?

"Storms Cannot Break the Sky"

It comes down to a core discovery of Tibetan Buddhist wisdom: that behind your thoughts, personality, and emotional storms, an inner flame of consciousness burns with a brilliant love, wisdom, and awareness that nothing can hurt or extinguish. It’s called your basic goodness or natural perfection. And like the sky, it’s not something you need to build up with mental “workout reps” or other effort—you just need to let the emotional storms come and go … then find your way home to that goodness and perfection.

Not into Meditation? Not a Problem.

Sitting cross-legged for hundreds of hours is great if you’re drawn to it, but many of us just want a faster and easier way to let go of stress and overwhelm, find some solid ground, and (if it’s not over-asking) be less miserable.

Which is why we’re thrilled to bring you something new and different from Mingyur Rinpoche:

Wild World, Steady Mind, a 21-day experience to reclaim your natural-born clarity and calm (even if you honestly can't remember the last time you felt that way).

This is not a conventional meditation course or app. Instead, Sounds True worked closely with Mingyur Rinpoche to offer an uplifting and effortless journey that won’t feel like another “you-should-be-doing-this” on your calendar. These inspiring and calming daily boosts are profound—but are also designed to make your days lighter, not heavier, so you’ll actually look forward to them.

Each recorded video teaching and “micro-practice” (just 10-15 minutes each) is meant to quickly bring you back into the light of the calm and contentment within you … and to lead you into a steadiness and joy that becomes your “new normal” well beyond the three weeks.

And Some Exciting Updates

We’re happy to confirm that this program will also include two LIVE online gatherings with Mingyur Rinpoche, where he’ll offer extended insights and answer questions to help you with your specific obstacles. Have you heard about the “energetic transmission” that happens when you meet with advanced master teachers? If not, you may be surprised by what a boost these sessions will give you. Rinpoche is always in high demand, so these live sessions will be a rare treat.

Plus, we’ve also added an online community forum where you can share your challenges, breakthroughs, and tips. If you’re a “people person,” you’ll get to connect with an amazing global circle. And even if you’re not, just quietly observing will likely give you a lift on your shared inner adventure.

Over 21 uplifting days, you'll discover how to …

Recognize restlessness and anxiety as your basic goodness and self-compassion in disguise, calling you home

Find calm in stressful moments when scattered or caught in unexpected crises (no cushion or meditation room required)

Hold frustration and fear instead of fighting it, the way the vast blue sky holds passing clouds and storms

Quiet the mind at bedtime to release racing thoughts and worries, allowing rest to come more easily

Break free of the phone – how to stop its feeds, notifications, and "comparison culture" noise from keeping you stuck yet unsatisfied, by returning to fully felt and lived presence.

Reconnect with the inner light of connection that is always supporting you, whether you're alone or sharing it with others

Meet hard emotions with steadiness by discovering that anger, sadness, and self-judgment aren't as solid or permanent as they seem

Come home to yourself, and let that steady, joyful baseline serve as your constant shelter amid uncertainty and the unknown

What You'll Experience

Across three weeks, Mingyur Rinpoche will guide you through six key shifts in how you see yourself and the world, to help you to meet and overcome a major modern obstacle.

Each day brings you a distilled teaching and a short practice (most are less than 12 minutes) to guide you effortlessly to a new setpoint of steadiness and joy.

1 Major Shift 1 · Days 1–4 You Are More Than What You Believe +
Day 1

The problem: I don't know who I am. Something is missing.

"You are more than what you believe." Recognition of that innate goodness is the entire path and your true home.

Day 2

The problem: I'm overwhelmed by anxiety and panic. I don't know what to do.

"Panic is the storm. Awareness is the sky." You don't need to fight the storm. The sky is always beyond it.

Day 3

The problem: I feel hollow. Restless. Like something is always missing.

Experience restlessness as the voice of your inner self-compassion and wisdom calling you home.

Day 4

The problem: I'm on autopilot, multitasking, stuck in my head. How do I stop and just be present?

"Catch just a single moment." When feeling scattered, confused, or upset, one second of awareness is all you need to change everything.

2 Major Shift 2 · Days 5–8 Our Home Is Our True Nature +
Day 5

The problem: I feel lonely, even when surrounded by people. Nobody really understands me.

"The desire for happiness is love." The completeness you're looking for is already inside you and calling you back.

Day 6

The problem: Real relationships are exhausting and complicated. Even an AI companion can feel more comforting than people.

Imperfection in relationships is where growth lives. "No mistakes, no improvement." Every feeling of like or dislike is at its core love and compassion in action.

Day 7

The problem: Whatever I do or try isn't working. Maybe something is fundamentally wrong with me.

The inner sky is never broken. You are not the horror movie. You are the light of the film projector.

Day 8

The problem: I feel everything too intensely and can't shut it off. And I absorb the pain of others.

Sensitivity without wisdom becomes suffering. Wisdom transforms our perceptions and feelings into a complete experience free of suffering.

3 Major Shift 3 · Days 9–12 See Reality as It Is +
Day 9

The problem: Everyone else's life looks better than mine. I can't stop comparing.

Other people's happiness can become your happiness instead of your suffering.

Day 10

The problem: My mind won't stop judging. I criticize myself and everyone else so that everything seems wrong, bad, or lacking.

You can become non-judgmental, not by suppressing judgment but by first allowing it.

Day 11

The problem: I can't sleep. My mind won't stop. I lie awake, exhausted.

The craving for sleep is what chases sleep away. How to let go of the outcome so rest becomes possible.

Day 12

The problem: I can't stop scrolling. The phone is the first thing I touch in the morning and the last thing I touch at night.

The urge to go online is another expression of your inner love and compassion looking for connection. You can transform the relationship without fighting or ending it.

4 Major Shift 4 · Days 13–15 Everything Is Always Changing +
Day 13

The problem: I'm angry and frustrated at the world, and it's gnawing away at me.

When you look directly at anger, it dissolves into pieces. It was never the solid thing you believed it to be.

Day 14

The problem: I feel stuck, trapped, unable to change. The same patterns keep repeating.

What you believe you see is not what is actually there. Our frozen patterns are like ice that can return to their liquid state.

Day 15

The problem: I understand all of this intellectually, but nothing actually changes.

"If you recognize in the dream you're dreaming, you can make friends with a dream tiger." Recognizing you are dreaming changes everything, without the dream needing to disappear.

5 Major Shift 5 · Days 16–18 Your Mind Is in Your Hand +
Day 16

The problem: What is the point of any of this? My life feels hollow and purposeless.

The sense of hollowness is wisdom calling you home. At a deep level, "no purpose is the best purpose," and every job done with love becomes meaningful.

Day 17

The problem: The world feels like it's falling apart and I worry about what lies ahead.

The fear of death creates more suffering than death itself. And "the nature of awareness is never going to die."

Day 18

The problem: I've tried to escape suffering and feel happier for years, but nothing really changes.

The goal is not to eliminate suffering but to transform your relationship with it. Pain itself is not the problem. Perception is.

6 Major Shift 6 · Days 19–21 Be as You Are +
Day 19

The problem: I'm always distracted, can't focus, and my thoughts never stop spinning.

You don't need to stop the mind. "When your monkey mind wants to jump, let it jump." Instead, learn to be the shepherd on the hill.

Day 20

The problem: I know there's something greater and deeper in me or around me. I want to connect with it but don't know how.

Actually, you already know how. An invitation to "non-meditation, letting your mind be as it is" as the best meditation.

Day 21

The problem: Okay, things have changed for the better, and so have I. But will this actually last?

What you found here is not something that ends with the course. "The lamp was always lit, it still is, and always will be."

Meet Your Teacher

Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche is a much-loved and revered Tibetan Buddhist meditation teacher, and a rising voice among a new generation of lineage keepers trained outside of Tibet. With a rare gift for presenting the ancient wisdom of his tradition in a fresh and engaging way, his profound teachings and playful sense of humor have endeared him to students around the world and across multiple generations.

Born in Nepal in 1975, he began his formal monastic studies at the age of eleven and entered his first three-year retreat just two years later. His teachings weave together the practical and philosophical disciplines of Tibetan training with the scientific and psychological orientations of the West. His first book, The Joy of Living, debuted on the New York Times bestseller list and has been translated into more than twenty languages; he is also the author of In Love with the World, Turning Confusion into Clarity, and Joyful Wisdom.

In 2011, Rinpoche left his monastery in Bodhgaya, India to begin a four-and-a-half-year “wandering retreat” through the Himalayas and the plains of India. When he isn’t caring for the monasteries under his guidance in India and Nepal, he spends part of each year traveling and teaching worldwide.
